Who’s it for?
This NVQ is ideal for those working in the health and social
care sectors and who have direct contact with sector service users.
Entry guidance
There aren’t any specific recommended prior learning requirements
for this qualification. However learners might find it useful
if they’ve already completed a Level
1 qualification in a relevant subject area. Candidates
have to be at least 16 years old.
Group A: (Mandatory units)
To achieve the qualification, candidates working in Health occupations need to successfully complete:

2 core units from Group A
•
2 optional units from Group B
•
2 further units from Group A and/or Group B
Candidates working in Social Care should successfully complete:
•
4 core units from Group A
•
2 optional units from Group B
To successfully complete a unit, each candidate has to provide
evidence satisfying all the ‘statements of competence’ or performance and knowledge requirements in that
unit.
